Q. I need to find out how many miles and how long it would take to travel around the united states borders. I am trying to take a trip around the border on a motorcycle . Thanks

A. If you were to start in Key West, Florida and return there via: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, across to Washington, down to San Diego and back to Key West you will have traveled 10,000+ miles. Northern Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire can get a little trickey without a lot of back tracking. My wife and I took a simular trip in 2003 in our motorhome and traveled just short of 13,500 miles without crossing into Canada. We also didn't include Michigan, Wisconsin or Minnesota in our trip. Once we got to Michigan City, Indiana we realized we only had two weeks to get to Prineville, Oregon, so we skipped those Northern states. It was a beautiful trip. Enjoy yours and ride safe.
